16 Days Uganda grand Safari

 Day 1: Arrival and hotel transfer.

On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met and received by your driver guide from Breeze Travel safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel. Overnight at Space Hotel Apartments and Spa.


Day 2: Entebbe – Jinja.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Eastern town of Jinja through Mabira forest and colorful road side fruit market for a full day white water rafting on Nile river. Lunch will be served on the island and proceed for last raft. On return, you will visit the source of the Nile River and proceed back to Kampala for a relaxed evening. Overnight at Space Hotel Apartments and Spa. (B, L)


Day 3:  Murchison Falls

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park and have a lunch break in Masindi town. On arrival you will cross the ferry and check in the Paraa Safari Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (B, L, D).

 


Day 4:

After breakfast you go for a three hours boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals like; hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes and elephants on the river banks then you return to the lodge for lunch. At 2.00 pm you drive to the Top of the Falls where you will see the waters of the Nile forced through a gap 7m wide as they plunge down an escarpment 35m in a majestic cascade, you may walk down to Bakers spot then you return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (B, L, D)

 


Day 5:  Marchison Falls NP- Fort Portal.

Early morning wakeup call at 6.00 am then have a quick cup tea/coffee, you go for a game drive on the northern bank in search of animals like: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribi, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes among other animal then have breakfast. At 10.00 am you depart Murchison Falls and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro Kitara kingdom  proceeding through verdant countryside traditional homesteads and tea plantations. You will arrive in Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom in the evening and check into Mountains of the Moon hotel for Dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 6:  Kibale Forest National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, you drive to Kibale Forest National Park to the Chimpanzee tracking information office for a briefing by the ranger guide who will then lead you into the rain forest where you will track the Chimpanzees; the forest walk is a rewarding activity. This forest is home to a large other monkeys including Lhoestes, Red-colobus, Blue-tailed, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabey, birds and butterflies. You will have lunch at the Canteen and return to Fort Portal town for a tour of this beautiful town and if time allows, you may go and visit the famous Amabere ga Nyinamwuiru, a cultural site attached to the Tooro kingdom. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel. (B)

 


Day 7:  Fort Portal- Semliki National Park

After breakfast drive to Semliki National Park and visit the male and female Hot Springs at Sempaya where you can optionally put some eggs and boil them and in less than 20 minutes they will be ready for eating. Thereafter you visit the pygmies-these are peaceful and friendly people and you can optionally join them in their cultural performance as they entertain you and share their day to day livelihood and cultures then proceed to Semliki Wildlife Reserve and check in the Ntoroko Game Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ntoroko Game Lodge. (B, L)

 


Day 8: Semliki National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you go for a birding activity in search of species like; the rare Shoebill Stork, Spot-breasted Ibis, Hartlaubs’s Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshawk, Red-thighed Sparrow Hawk, Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin, Nkulengu Rail, Western Bronze-napped Pigeon, Black-collared Lovebird, Yellow-throated Cuckoo, Red-chested Owlet. Return for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon you will take a nature walk to the Falls. Dinner and overnight at Ntoroko Game Lodge. (B, L, D)

 


Day 9:  Semliki National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After your breakfast you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park on arrival you check in the Mweya Safari Lodge and have Lunch. At 2.00 pm you go for a unique two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for bird watching and game viewing at close range.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning wake up call at 6.00 am have a quick cup of tea or coffee then you go for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, Kobs and, if lucky, the leopard, and then have breakfast. In morning you relax by the swimming pool and possibly have a dip or you make use of the health club and then have lunch. In the afternoon you go for a game drive to the Craters area. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. (B, L, D)

 


Day 11:  QENP- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast drive to the Ishasha sector and search for the tree climbing Lions and you will have a picnic lunch at the Ishasha River, thereafter you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park on arrival you will check in the Silverback Lodge.  Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge (B, L, D).

 


Day 12: Gorilla tracking Bwindi NP

After an early morning breakfast at 7:45am, you go to the gorilla tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the forest to track these great relatives of ours (Mountain gorillas). The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous hills and valleys. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a memorable one. After this day’s gorgeous adventure, you will have a picnic lunch in the forest. In the evening you have a short community walk to see these local people’s way of life and cultures or better still relax at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge. (B, L, D)

 


Day 13: Bwindi NP –  Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast drive to Lake Mburo National Park you will have a stop at Lake Bunyonyi near Kabale to enjoy the panoramic view of the Lake and some of its 26 islands and then another stop at Igongo Cultural Center and Museum where you will have lunch. On arrival you check in at Mihingo Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge (B, L, D).www.mihingolodge.com

 


Day 14: Lake Mburo.

After an early morning breakfast, you go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you view a variety of birds and wildlife then return to the Lodge and have Lunch. At 3.00 pm you go for a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi, topis among other animal and bird species that your guide will help you spot. The park is a very ideal place for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found here. Dinner and Overnight at Mihingo lodge. (B, L, D)

 


Day 15:  L. Mburo- Kampala.

After your breakfast, depart Lake Mburo and drive to Kampala via Masaka you will have a brief stopover at the Equator to perform a simple experiment and experience the Hemisphere variance, you will have a picnic lunch en route on arrival you check in Space Hotel Apartments and Spa.  Overnight at Space Hotel Apartments and Spa. Day 16: Relaxation / Airport transfer.

After breakfast you go for shopping  or relax at hotel at 3.00 pm you will be transferred to the airport your departure flight. (B)
